The company is a family owned business started in 1998 and becoming fully incorporated in August 2002.
The Company is headquartered in Trispen, on the outskirts of Truro and have their own purpose designed and built offices. Ably supported by 320+ office, driving and support staff, the company operates a wide range of vehicles including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric saloons, MPV’s, minibuses, coaches, and executive cars. The company also have a large range of both single and multiple disabled and wheelchair accessible vehicles.
As the largest taxi operator in Cornwall, we cover most of the major towns and outlying communities, such as Truro, Falmouth, Helston, Lizard Peninsula, Penzance, Hayle, St. Ives, Camborne, St. Austell, Looe and Lostwithiel. We are also the sole provider of the GTS (Ground Transportation Services) for Cornwall NQY Airport. Our entire fleet is managed and serviced by our own team of dedicated mechanics, body repair specialists and valeters. We are completely self-sufficient in this regard.
Over the past 9 years, the company has won many new major contracts with large commercial and public sector organisations such as the NHS, Cornwall Council, National Transport providers and Newquay Cornwall Airport. Due to our success in managing these contracts over many years, the company continues to grow at a phenomenal rate, which has allowed us to expand our operations both County and nationwide. This has been evidenced by our recent awarding of a number of contracts with Plymouth City Council, with plans to include potential contracts with Devon County Council.
Our experience of managing, coordinating, and advising the NHS and numerous other local healthcare organisations in Cornwall and Devon, on the provision of non-emergency patient transport services is both detailed and extensive, to the extent that we have been the main supplier of these and similar transport services for over 15 years for different services within the wider NHS in Cornwall and now Devon.
As part of this successful service provision, we have a dedicated team of administrators to cover all NHS and Local Government requests for transport. We are also one of the main suppliers of bespoke transport services for Cornwall Council and Adult and Children’s Social Care. We also provide business transport solutions for major rail, road, and air transport providers, as well as many other companies nationwide. The company also provides these services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.
To help manage, coordinate, and support our daily operations and fleet, the company use a cloud based, digital dispatch system called Autocab which comes complete with a bespoke, interactive and user friendly App. Our system allows us to simultaneously track and coordinate our operational fleet of over 215+ vehicles on a daily basis. It also has a comprehensive reporting system which allows for detailed MI (management information) reporting, including the costs, mileage and Co2 emissions of each vehicle.
The company’s IT infrastructure is fully managed, maintained and supported by a local Data Communications company and comprises a secure, cloud based networked server, complete with a powerful 1Gb private leased line circuit and secondary failover circuit for broadband and internet access. As part of this, the company utilise Microsoft Office 365 Business Standard throughout with Advanced ESET Endpoint Protection.
In 2016, the company achieved the well-known and respected Quality Management accreditation, ISO:9001:2015, closely followed by ISO:14001:2015, for Environmental Management, both of which are rigorously audited on an annual basis. We recently achieved a 100% auditors report for both accreditations.
We are also Cyber Essentials Certified and registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office).
All of this has hard work has been recognised within the industry, by the company being runners up in the annual NPHTA Taxi Awards 2024 and being nominated this year in a further two categories for the 2025 awards in Blackpool. We were also proud winners of the South West England 2023/24 award for “Taxi Company of the Year.”
In conclusion, we have come a long way from 1998 having started with just 3 staff and two vehicles. By 2015, this had grown to 75 staff and 30 vehicles. Fast forward to today, and as mentioned earlier, we now have over 320 staff and 215+ vehicles and are still actively recruiting, as we are acutely aware that the bedrock of any successful company, are the staff who support, manage, and uphold the operational continuity and vision of the company. This will serve to better enable us to continue providing the high quality, passenger focussed, bespoke services we are renowned for, as well as upholding the operational continuity and vision of the company.
