Miracle Theatre Trust, one of Cornwall’s longest standing performing arts charities, has appointed Fabio Santos as its Development Director.
Fabio, who was awarded an MBE for his contribution to participatory arts, will work alongside founder Bill Scott, the team and the Board to develop and deliver a sustainable and dynamic future for the company.
Most recently Executive Director of Stonecrabs Theatre, Fabio brings over two decades of experience in theatre and participatory arts production, high‑quality community engagement and organisational growth across the UK arts sector.
Fabio has delivered successful fundraising strategies for organisations of varying scales and brings a strategic, relationship‑driven approach to development, with a particular focus on building sustainable income models and deepening community impact.
At Stonecrabs Theatre he led a significant expansion of the company’s participatory and artist‑development programmes, strengthening engagement with underrepresented communities and building long‑term partnerships with local authorities, the heritage and health sectors, and cultural organisations.
‘We really are delighted that Fabio will be joining us to lead on development and fundraising to support Miracle’s work. He joins us at a pivotal moment in the company’s history, at a time when we are looking at the shape of the work, opportunities and progression for the next 5 to 10 years.’ Mandy Berry, Chair of Trustees
Miracle Theatre was founded in 1979 by Co-Artistic Director Bill Scott. The company’s most recent work included a South West outdoor tour of Twelfth Night and the launch of an open access young company.
In addition to 47 years of rural touring, Miracle has a long and rich history of talent development and arts outreach across the region working with people of all ages and experience levels from primary level to professional development.
‘We have been offering training and mentoring for many years, including work for professionals, young people and volunteers and this will be one of the key areas for fundraising development. We are looking forward to working with Fabio to develop and strengthen the work ’ Bill Scott, founder and Co-Artistic Director
‘I’m thrilled to be joining Miracle at such a pivotal moment in its journey. I’ve long admired the company’s commitment to creativity, community and making high‑quality theatre accessible to audiences across Cornwall and beyond. I’m looking forward to working with the team, the Board and our partners to build on this legacy.’ Fabio Santos
