A Time of Change – and Opportunity
A statement on leadership, our Board, and the year ahead
Cornwall is changing, and so is the country around it. As the United Kingdom welcomes a new Prime Minister in Andy Burnham — with his stated commitment to devolution and to shifting power and investment beyond Westminster — there has rarely been a more important moment for Cornwall’s business community to be organised, ambitious and heard. At the same time, the shift away from the Shared Prosperity Fund and the reality of lower levels of public funding mean that the way business support is delivered in Cornwall is changing too. That makes a strong, well-led and independent Chamber more important than ever.
Against that backdrop, Cornwall Chamber of Commerce is entering a period of significant and positive change of our own. In the coming months we will appoint a new Chief Executive to lead the Chamber into its next chapter. It is an exciting appointment, and one we will announce in full in due course. We are grateful to everyone who has helped steer the Chamber to this point, and we look forward to introducing the person who will carry that work forward.
