- What advice would you give to other young people aspiring to make a significant impact in their field or start their own business?
Back yourself! If you have a passion, you don’t need to have everything figured out. What matters most is understanding why you do what you do. It’s easy to compare yourself to others or to established businesses, but the most meaningful and impactful work comes from staying authentic to who you are and what you believe in. Progress takes time, but your drive and passion to make a difference aren’t things that can be measured — they’re what will set you apart.
- What is your proudest achievement over the past 6 months?
Over the past six months, one of my proudest achievements has been passing my Master’s degree in Psychology with a Distinction. Balancing my studies alongside running Benefit Body & Mind has taught me a lot about discipline, time management, and giving the best of myself to everyone around me.
I’m incredibly proud of the continued impact Benefit Body & Mind is having on people’s lives, and of growing that impact to a wider scale. Over this period, I have been setting the organisation up for future funding and long-term growth, developing new proposals and partnerships to enhance community engagement across Cornwall.
What I’m most proud of, though, is finding balance: managing day-to-day delivery while also focusing on the strategic side of building the organisation, and still making time to work on myself — both physically and mentally.
- What are your aspirations for the future?
Looking ahead, my main aspiration is to continue growing our partnerships and expanding Benefit Body & Mind’s reach across Cornwall. A key part of this is bringing to life our new concept — the Mind and Movement Van. This project will allow us to take wellbeing support directly into communities, especially those who are rural, isolated, or face barriers to accessing traditional services. With a mobile base, we’ll have the physical means to deliver sessions, conversations, and connection in almost every community to continue making wellbeing visible, accessible, and part of everyday life.
I want to keep building a network of like-minded people and organisations across the county so that, together, we can reach more individuals who need that little extra support to get moving, connect, and feel better.
Ultimately, my goal is to keep spreading the message that looking after ourselves — both physically and mentally — isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. Every small step counts, and if we can help more people see their own strength, confidence, and worth through movement, then we’re creating lasting change from the inside out.
- What/who motivates you?
I motivate me! I’ve always had an inner drive to keep improving and to show up as the best version of myself. I like to finish each week asking, “What have I achieved? Whose lives have I made a difference to?” That reflection keeps me grounded and inspired.
What really keeps me motivated is seeing how happy people are, whether it’s someone leaving a workout class proud of how far they’ve pushed themselves, or having a chat with someone who came in feeling low and leaves a little lighter. It’s those small moments, the thank-you messages, and the genuine appreciation from people that remind me why I do what I do. You have to be your own biggest cheerleader, but it’s the impact on others that keeps me moving forward.
- What does being recognised as a 2025 30 u 30 winner mean to you?
Being recognised as a 2025 30 u 30 winner is a moment to pause and reflect on how far I’ve come, but also a reminder of why I started. It’s not just about personal achievement; it’s about the impact Benefit Body & Mind has been able to make in supporting people’s mental and physical wellbeing across Cornwall.
This recognition reinforces that the work we’re doing matters; that creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and stronger within themselves truly makes a difference. It motivates me to keep growing our reach, building partnerships, and inspiring others to care for both their body and mind. Most of all, it’s a celebration of community — of everyone who’s believed in the vision, shown up to sessions, and shared in this journey.
